Mistakes in Retail Marketing

I'm going out of business over recent months some major book retailers was saddened to hear about the news. But any real surprise?

I mean, I love book stores, I buy books about how I personally think - I have most of it online. Why? It is faster and more convenient.

In fact, with most things I buy them online because I do research and find what I really want to be like.

For example, my friend Peter was here last weekend. And we went into an electronics retailer to purchase a chord with our video camera link to your computer.

Man no idea what we were looking. Nor did he offer to help. But when we asked him if he had an Internet connection, she said yes ... And then we did some quick searches ... We are looking for and what was found.

Here's an example: I go buy a phone. I select my phone. I wait for 10 minutes. And when I go to pay for it I'm told it is not in stock.

Its shoulder shrugs. Too bad. I mean, should not you put off the shelves or at least the tickets sold out on how to stop wasting people's time?

If you are in retail ... If you are selling a commodity product ... It is now good enough to expect will sell you just because you are in a high traffic area or whatever.

You need to create a personality ... Have a relationship with your customers. You need to have employees who really know what they are talking about ... Or at least will go the extra mile and look for you online ... Now you need to do something different alienated.

Guess what else happens. Someone on his phone a few little gizmo which allows them to see the cheapest price for a particular area and they are straight. Or like me, they just buy online. Service, personal, ongoing communication, lack of education or something, I can see very little benefit for retail purchase.
